For the most part, a higher value is placed on something that's been handmade vis-à-vis the same object that was machined into existence on some assembly line in some factory. The fine touch of a wrinkly and calloused master craftsman's hand just gives it a certain je ne sais quoi.
In the world of weddings, however, the DIY bride doesn't do it for the prestige or the profit. The months of planning; the hours of cutting and gluing, of climbing ladders and stringing lights; the paper cuts and botched calligraphy; the pizza and ice-cream-we-shouldn't-but-we-deserve-it breaks with bridesmaids—all in the name of love.
And everywhere you looked on Travis and Hilda's special day, you could see the hands ready to do just that.
Many thanks to all who made the day a tremendous success!
